Griffin is a member of the Council of Judges, the ruling body of Mega-City One's Justice Department. He conspires with Rico, Dredd's half-brother, to frame Dredd for murder and force Chief Justice Fargo's retirement. Griffin uses the chaos caused by Rico's rampage to convince the Council to unlock the Janus Project and clone a new Judge army. When the Council tries to reverse its decision, Griffin has Rico eliminate them. At the Janus lab in the Statue of Liberty, Griffin protests when Rico replaces the original DNA sample with his own, leading Rico to have the ABC Warrior kill him.

In Their Own Story

Griffin's plot begins when he covertly communicates with Rico, imprisoned at the Aspen Penal Colony, enabling his escape. After Rico, disguised as Dredd, kills reporter Vartis Hammond, Griffin ensures Dredd is convicted by presenting DNA evidence from the bullets. When Chief Justice Fargo retires to spare Dredd's life, Griffin seizes the opportunity to push for the reactivation of the Janus Project. As Rico terrorizes the city, Griffin convinces the Council to unlock Janus. When the Council tries to reverse its decision, Griffin has Rico eliminate them. At the Janus lab, Griffin protests when Rico replaces the original DNA sample with his own, and Rico has the ABC Warrior kill him.
